Pero Jakšić is born in Split, Croatia, in 1963. After graduating from the Art school of Split, he continues his education in Paris where he obtains diploma of fine arts (sculpture) from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in 1990, under supervison of Jean Cardot.

In addition to the artistic experience of Split and Paris, Jakšić carries with him the experience of the island of Brač, the island of his ancestors, and its famous stone which has fascinated artists from the Roman time onwards. Many Jakšić's sculptures, small and big in size, are made exactly from that stone of Brač. Stone is also material that most of Jakšić’s abstract and realistic forms are carved from.

Jakšić has participated in many group exibitions and sculptors' symposiums in Croatia and abroad. He has acomplished many public works and has won numerous prizes and awards.
